Want lips as soft and as smooth as a baby’s butt?

Just by chance I came across this post a friend of mine had shared on her Facebook called ‘…because I’m a twentysomething’.
It’s from a blog called Today Was Meaningful created by Jessica.

Just reading it made me feel not so alone, like someone else got me and what it’s like to be a twenty something. I found myself smiling reading this, I hope it makes you smile too.

We all know with fashion things come and go… and then come back again. Recently we had the whole ‘The Great Gatsby’ 1920’s love affair all over again, but creeping in has also been the 90’s fashion. Look around and you will see the denim overalls, crop tops, neon colours, crazy prints, scrunchies, clear bags/clutches, two bun hairstyles, not to mention all the boybands and girl groups. HELLO! The 90’s have definitely come back, but don’t worry, this time they’re refined, just like us!!! Check out how you can rock the 90’s and which celebrities will be joining you…

Simple Side Twist

22 Jul

When it comes to styling hair, I don’t like to put too much fuss into it. If I’m going to be completely honest, I really only know three styles; straight/curly down, the ponytail and the messy bun. If you’re like me, sometimes you get a bit bored with the same old same, so here is a little something I like to call the Simple Side Twist to try yourself.

The Simple Side Twist can be added to many different styles, this one is added to the good old straight hair.

Grab a section of hair from one side and twist it, grab a small section of hair behind and add it to the twist you’ve made. Continue the twist as far as you desire, be sure to keep adding the hair as you go.

Slightly release the twist of hair to give it a bit of volume, then clip it back with a bobby pin or, for a little bit of glam, add a big statement piece like this flower. To keep it lasting, spray a little bit of hairspray.

And there you have it, a very simple hairstyle with a big effect.

Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart

When I think of ‘do it yourself’ projects,  the first famous person that comes to my mind is Martha Stewart, and that is why she is our first ‘Someone You Should Know’ for DIY here at The Twenty Somethings.

She may be 71-years-old (here I was thinking she was only in her 50’s!!!), but Martha still knows what is in an out with her versatile talents with food, crafts, parties and shopping.

Be sure to check out her website and don’t forget to also check out videos from her TV show, where she brings on special guests to show you how to make things and also gives you great advice.
