Overnight Oats

26 Aug

If you’re one of those people that skip breakfast because you run out of time in the morning, it’s time we put a stop to that with ‘Overnight Oats’. Now there are NO excuses to missing out on the most important meal of the day!

The best thing about these oats – they are good for you, they even taste good! So simple to make and are perfect for those cold winter mornings or those hot summer starts.

*This breakfast meal is to be made the night before*

1/2 cup of traditional wholemeal oats
1/2 cup of milk

Pour 1/2 cups of traditional wholemeal oats into a Tupperware container or a jar, then pour 1/2 cup of your choice of milk on top. With a teaspoon, slightly mix the two ingredients then seal the container or jar, and place it in the fridge to rest overnight. When the morning comes, your oats are ready to eat!

That’s it everyone, you’re done!

Because everyone is different, you can add some things to your oats if you like. If you’re a sweet tooth, add a bit of honey to the mix. Want a piece of fruit with your breakfast? Banana’s are a great combo with oats. If it’s a cold morning and you want your oats warm, place them in the microwave for 30 seconds to heat them up.

Personally I love to make my overnight oats with unsweetened almond milk (I’m trying to cut my sugar intake). It’s definitely a healthier option and now I have no excuse for missing out on breakfasts when I’m in a rush!

Here is a website I came across that has some awesome ideas on making all different types of Overnight Oats. Be sure to check it out, they look deliiisssh!
