What do you get when you mix Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride *takes deep breath*, and Craig Robinson into an aftermath global apocalypse, with the special appearances of (just to name a few) Emma Watson, Channing Tatum, Michael Cera *takes another deep breath*, Rihanna, Jason Segel, Mindy Kaling and the Backstreet Boys???
The film starts off with Seth picking up one of his oldest mates, Jay, from the LAX airport, who is visiting in town. Seth who’s been invited to James Franco’s housewarming party asks Jay, who is reluctant at first, to come along with him. At the party you meet all the big named celebrities and watch them get typically drunk or high, or both. It’s at this party all hell breaks loose, literally, and the celebrities are forced to try and survive with limit food and water, whilst trying to figure a way of surviving the apocalypse.
When I went to watch this movie, I didn’t really know what to expect, except for some big named comedians and the end of the world, so my expectation for the movie were really low.
Boy was I blown out of the park!
I found myself hiding under my spare jumper and peeping to look at the screen through my fingers all whilst crying, yes actual tears, with laughter. While I must admit this film is a typical guys film, there seems to always be excessive amounts of weed and penis jokes in guys films, I reeaallyyy enjoyed the film and would happily go see it again. I have a strong feeling the ending is what made the film a favourite of mine.
I would recommend you to go and see it with some of your mates, your guy friends might be the best for a film like this, on a night out, you won’t be disappointed!
Well… *SPOILER ALERT* if you really love Channing Tatum you might get slightly disappointed.
